Employees of the South Keys Home Depot celebrate during their 2017 Orange Door Campaign.

Thank you to the South Keys Home Depot for selecting the Y’s Second Stage Housing program as their charity of choice, during their in-store Orange Door Campaign.

For the past six years, this valued partnership has seen the South Keys Home Depot team rally employees and customers alike to raise $22,053 for homeless youth in our city. Be sure to stop in for any of your home or renovation needs from May 31 through June 24 and while you are there, support the Y through their Orange Door Campaign! Thanks again to the entire team at the South Keys Home Depot!

Congrats to emond harnden - the 2018 Lawyers for kids champions.

Congrats to emond harnden - the 2018 Lawyers for kids champions.

The Y’s annual Lawyers for Kids Hockey Tournament was held this past April. Twelve teams battled it out with Emond Harnden taking home this year’s coveted trophy. Each year, members from the local law community, their families, and friends team up for a fun day to recognize the memory of their late colleague Jim O’Grady, and to honour him by raising money for the Y, a charity that was close to his heart. Thanks to this year’s participants, $30,000 was raised to help provide safe and reliable before and after school care through the Y Kids Club, for some of our communities most in need families. Thanks for lacing up your skates in support of our community!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at this year’s Chair’s Round Table reception. This year attendees were joined by Sandra Tisiot, an Ottawa businesswoman who shared that the Y was there for her at a very pivotal point in her life. Thank you so much to Sandra for sharing her story with us and to all of you for your continued support. It is because of you that the Y is ready to help when people need us the most.

Y Staff members hosting a Bake sale in support of the Y Strong Kids Campaign

The Y Strong Kids campaign is supported by so many caring individuals in our community. This year we are really thankful for the Y Staff representatives who volunteered to help lead staff initiatives throughout our organization.

From bake sales and movie nights, to instructor fitness challenges and staff lunches, the ideas and insight the entire volunteer team provided went above and beyond in helping us continue to climb towards our goal. Thank you all!
